Compatibility support policy

When a Mod does not work, we investigate.

Third-party Mods vary in structure and may change without notice, so universal compatibility cannot be guaranteed. You can report an unsupported or incompatible Mod with diagnostics and its original source link; requests are then handled according to your edition.

How requests are prioritized

A paid license covers priority compatibility support for its included games. It is not a separate charge based on how complex a Mod appears.

Community Edition Public compatibility queue

Reports are collected for product-wide improvements, but investigation and updates may arrive later and are not guaranteed for every individual Mod.

Paid editions Priority investigation

Single Game Edition covers its selected game; All Games Edition covers every game included in the collection. These reports are reviewed first, and feasible fixes are delivered in maintenance updates without an extra per-Mod fee.

01

Report

Share the diagnostic package, game version, Mod version and original download page only when you choose to.

02

Reproduce and assess

We verify the issue and determine whether it can be resolved safely without redistributing third-party content.

03

Deliver an update

Feasible fixes are released as software or game-module compatibility updates, with paid requests handled first.

Compatibility requests

Found a Mod that does not work?

Prepare a structured report with the game, Mod version and failure details. This gives us enough information to reproduce the problem and place it in the correct support queue.

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 are verified game modules. Each game listed below will be available in the Community Edition as soon as its Mac workflow is fully verified, with paid editions unlocking advanced multi-Mod management.

Modding on Mac, without the guesswork.

Choose your game, add a Mod archive, review the results and apply it. Jacob Mod Manager explains conflicts before files are changed and keeps recoverable backups along the way.

See the six-step workflow Manage licenses & devices

Read the RE4 Mac Mod installation guide →

Three steps to get started

  1. Choose a supported Resident Evil game
  2. Drag a compatible Mod archive into your library
  3. Review the checks, then apply the managed patch

Apply with confidence

  1. See target files and conflicts before deployment
  2. Keep the original game files and current patch backed up
  3. Restore a known-good state whenever you need it

Install and find your game

  1. Open the signed DMG and drag Jacob Mod Manager to Applications
  2. Launch it from Applications; no developer tools are required
  3. The official Mac game is normally found automatically; choose its app manually only if discovery fails

Move or remove safely

  1. Turn off every managed Mod and confirm the game is restored before removing the app
  2. Each license covers up to 2 Macs; when all slots are in use, deactivate an old Mac in the app or remove it online after purchase-email verification
  3. Deleting the app keeps your library, settings, backups and saved license for reinstall; permanently deleting that data is a separate action

Good to know

Questions before you start.

The essentials about supported games, editions, compatibility and purchase support.

Do I need the Mac version of the game installed?

Yes. Conversion and deployment use data from a supported official Mac release. Jacob Mod Manager checks common install locations automatically and asks you to choose the game app only when it cannot find it.

Is Community Edition a trial?

No. It is the free edition for every released game module. You can keep an unlimited local library and run compatibility analysis, while enabling one imported top-level Mod per game at a time.

Can every Windows Mod be converted for Mac?

No. Jacob Mod Manager converts supported game-resource files; it cannot run REFramework, DLL/EXE/ASI plugins, Windows code injection, trainers, Cheat Engine tables or ReShade-dependent Mods. Compatibility for ordinary resource Mods still depends on the game build, resource types and how the Mod was created. Paid reports are investigated first, but priority does not guarantee that every technically eligible Mod can be fixed.

What do the paid editions unlock?

Single Game and All Games editions add batch import, unlimited multi-Mod combinations, Mod presets, conflict rules, loadouts and automatic rebuilds for the games included by that license.

What are Mod presets? Do I need a paid edition?

Mod presets save favorite Mod combinations for reuse. Apply multiple presets in order, review dependencies and conflicts, and organize presets with drag ordering and expand/collapse controls. Presets require a paid edition: Single Game Edition unlocks them for the purchased game, and All Games Edition unlocks them for each released included game. Community Edition does not include Mod presets.

What if I have a purchase, activation or supported-compatibility problem?

Contact support@jacobmodmanager.app. Paddle and mandatory consumer rights apply to payment refunds, and qualifying delivery or supported-compatibility failures may use our additional 14-day resolution process. Read the refund and compatibility policy.

Compatibility report

Describe one Mod and one reproducible issue per report. Do not upload or redistribute the Mod archive itself.

Reports are for file-resource Mods targeting a supported native Mac game. REFramework, DLL/EXE/ASI plugins, Windows injection tools, trainers, Cheat Engine tables and ReShade-dependent Mods are outside the supported scope and should not be submitted.

Reports are sent securely to our support system. Paid priority is verified by the in-app support credential; selecting an edition here does not grant priority by itself.
